Privacy Requests

You can ask CheckInDate to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, subject to applicable law and account security checks.

1. Rights you may exercise

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where consent is the basis for a feature or processing activity.

Some rights may be limited where we must retain information for trust and safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute handling, subscription verification, or the protection of other users.

  • Access or confirmation requests.
  • Correction and update requests.
  • Deletion or restriction requests.
  • Data export or portability requests where applicable.

2. How to submit a request

Send your request to privacy@checkindate.app using the email connected to your CheckInDate account whenever possible. Include the type of request you are making and any details that would help us identify the data involved.

Some requests can also begin inside the app. For example, account deletion can be started from Settings, and a local export can be generated from the app for certain account, profile, and preference data.

If you are making a request for someone else, we may ask for proof that you are authorized to act on that person's behalf.

  • Use the account-linked email address whenever possible.
  • Name the type of request clearly in the subject or message body.
  • Mention whether the issue concerns the website, the app, or a specific safety or billing workflow.

3. Information to include

Please tell us whether your request concerns account data, profile content, messages, check-in history, safety reports, verification records, subscription information, marketing communications, or another specific area.

If you want a complete export, let us know whether the in-app export is enough or whether you also need server-side records such as messages or check-in history. Private messages are not routinely reviewed, but relevant message records may still be retained and processed where needed for trust and safety, support, fraud prevention, disputes, or legal compliance.

If you are asking us to correct or delete information, tell us exactly which information is affected and why you believe the request should apply.

  • Account email or account identifier.
  • The category of data involved.
  • Relevant dates, screenshots, or supporting context where useful.

4. Response times

We aim to acknowledge privacy requests promptly and respond within the timelines required by the laws that apply to your request.

For users in Türkiye, requests are generally handled within the statutory period set by KVKK. In other regions, response timing depends on the local law that applies to your request. Where requests are complex or repeated, additional time may be needed and we will let you know when required.

Using the email linked to your account usually helps us verify and process the request faster.

5. Identity checks, limits, and complaints

To protect users from unauthorized access, we may ask you to verify ownership of the account or identity before releasing, modifying, or deleting data.

If we cannot verify the request safely, if the request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, or if the law allows us to retain the data, we may refuse the request in whole or in part or ask for narrower instructions.

If you believe we have not handled your request correctly, you may have the right to complain to the supervisory authority or data protection regulator in your region.

  • We may refuse to disclose information if doing so would expose another user's data or harm a live safety investigation.
  • We may keep records, including relevant message records, that must be retained for billing, fraud, moderation, safety, or legal compliance.
